Column: There’s Still Talent In Wrestling

WrestlingTruth, it has been a while since I graced your pages with my unparalleled wrestling knowledge, will you allow me to once again speak my mind on the controversial and complicated business that is wrestling? Well now I’ve blown my own trumpet it’s time to start talking WWE & TNA Talent. A few months ago I did an article commenting on who I found entertaining in both major companies, so I thought I’d do another one?

Bobby Lashley

The man is back in pro wrestling and although predictable, his return was played right. The guy has talent and is believable as the ultimate badass. Plus the fact that him being an up and coming MMA star will mean good publicity for TNA. Plus the guy is awesome.

Kofi Kingston

When, a few months ago this man was getting much praise from fans on every wrestling site I personally failed to see it. I saw him as a mid carder at best, but someone whom was little more than a spot fest. However I am for the time being, eating my words as this “Jamaican Sensation” continues to put on impressive displays and gather loud crowd reactions wherever he goes.

Ted DiBiase Jr.

I’ve always valued this man over his partner Rhodes and in the last few weeks have had reason to do so. His prominent role on Raw with his father was well played by both DiBiase’s and his match with Orton showed us a glimpse of his potential. In interviews he easily surpasses Rhodes and I believe with the right push this man could be main eventing Wrestlemania.

CM Punk

His Pre match promo at Night of Champions was both well paced and thought provoking as the man from Chicago continues to impress as a heel. His preaching style has really drawn heat with the crowd and I believe that this man could be giving Jericho a run for his money on Smackdown soon.

Chris Jericho

Everyone currently loves Chris Jericho. His Heel work is the best seen in years, however I am putting him on here not for that or his recent In ring accomplishments. No, the artist formerly known as Y2J is currently entertaining me with his Facial expressions. With Mark Henry and Shaq in recent weeks he has been brilliant with his Eye popping facial reactions, showing that even as a diabolical heel he can be highly amusing.

Yoshi Tatsu

Despite his controversial start against Shelton Benjamin this man has gotten over extremely quickly with the WWE crowd as week after week he has had good performances in the ring. Mix that with the fact that he has the best entrance music, makes him one to watch in the future. Although I do wish he could get a new finishing move.

Zack Ryder

Ryder is THE man to watch at the moment. He continues to pull impressive matches out of everyone, annoys people with his cut off tights and “Wooing” and in my opinion is just as good as Dolph Ziggler. You Know It.

Robert Roode

The Money in Beer Money Inc, Robert Roode was given time to shine on Impact the week prior to Victory Road (Sorry, I just threw up thinking of that pay per view) and quickly showed why he could be the future of that company. The man has the in ring talent, the microphone skills and undeniable good charisma allowing him to get the crowd to hate or love him quickly.

Sarita

After an impressive match on her debut, this Knockout looks to have talent. She reportedly had a good match with Awesome Kong and I’ve seen some brief stuff of her on indie videos, she could and should be feuding for the title soon.

The Beautiful People

They make Maryse look tame. In my opinion, possibly one of the best acts in wrestling at the moment as they are incredibly over, given good storylines and can also wrestle. Oh, and they have the best entrance ever.

I’d just like to point out that this is who I find entertaining currently and in no way have I forgotten the contributions of stars such as John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler.
