Cena Thinks He’s a Tweener, Dos Caras Jr Debuts, Jerry Brisco Update
- In a recent interview with ESPN, John Cena explained that he thinks he’s neither face nor heel.
“That’s the thing, I’m one of those guys who on any given day can be booed out of any building. I’m the only guy who is neither a good guy or a bad guy. That’s because I’m genuinely myself. Certainly, guys in our industry try to sway the audience one way or the other, but like I said, I go out there and I’m me. I have certain things that I stand for, certain things that I believe in, and if you don’t like it and you tell me to go to hell, I think that’s your God-given right as a fan. It’s one of those deals where I’m that one guy who is outside of that realm of good guy, bad guy. I’m just me, and it elicits a response both positive and negative.”
The problems with this is he plainly plays the role of a face (it’s just some don’t like it), so it seems we’ll never actually see a true bad guy Cena.
- Dos Caras Jr finally debuted at FCW last night, losing to Kris Logan. He now simply goes by the name Dos.
- Jim Ross is back with another JRSBARBQ.com blog post. He starts off discussing Jerry Brisco:
“Jerry Brisco called me today from a Tampa area “medical facility” aka a hospital having returned to his room a few minutes earlier from the recovery room after finally undergoing heart surgery early Thursday morning. Jerry said he was sore albeit relieved to finally get the surgery done after it was postponed a couple times over the past two weeks. The doctors traveled up an artery in Jerry’s leg to perform the repair on a couple of birth defects in Brisco’s heart. While there the cardiologists found another couple of small issues in the form of more tiny holes in the heart that had gone undetected but those matters were taken care of during the course of the surgery. Jerry came through his heart procedure with flying colors and is expected to go home perhaps as early as Friday. Jerry should be at 100% in 2-3 months but knowing him he will be chomping at the bit to get back to work earlier. I know Jerry was feeling better because he said he was hungry for some J.R.’s BBQ. We’re going to try and accommodate him.”
On Edge:
“Edge, who as many know recently tore his Achilles tendon, had surgery a couple of days ago in Birmingham, Alabama under the watchful eye of the best orthopedic surgeon in the world, Dr. Jim Andrews. Dr. Andrews has operated on literally a who’s who in WWE and WCW over the years and even performed surgery last month on future NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre’s passing arm. I communicated with Edge from the hospital and from his home in Florida and, despite the extremely untimely setback, the “Rated R Superstar” was in as good a spirits as one could ask considering the situation. Edge knows what it’s like to be sidelined for an extended length of time by a serious injury therefore he knows what it will take to get back into the game. While in Birmingham, I suggested to Edge that he have someone get him some Dreamland BBQ but he refrained because he “was Jonseing” for some of our Chipolte Ketchup of which will be taken care of next week. I think we have Edge “hooked” on the best ketchup in the world. Dr. Andrews felt that Edge’s surgery was a success but stopped short of providing Edge with an exact return date. Mother Nature will have a say in determining that date but one can assume that it will be no less than 6 months and likely a little longer. I do think that Edge can be back for Wrestlemania if his rehab and physical therapy goes well and he doesn’t suffer any unforeseen setbacks. If Edge can successfully and effectively return to WM26 in Arizona it should be a significant boost to the show.”

Jebus, I can’t believe Cena still can’t see what’s wrong with fans booing him! He is clearly put over as face, whether he believes it or not. Someone who is put over as a heel should be booed so being cheered is like a compliement, it’s saying that you are good at what you do.
When you are a face you are supposed to be cheered, when you are booed it’s the fans saying that you are bad at what you do and they don’t like you as a wrestler in general. It’s that simple.
It’s completely different from being a tweener, completely.
Thank you for keeping us up to date on Jerry Brisco. I grew up watching the Brisco brothers every Saturday night on Florida wrestling and have met him many times over the years. He was always super-nice to his fans and just a great guy!
Wrestlers say what they’re told in interviews…Cena is surely just doing the same…
lol Cena, is a totally mark for his own huge hype!!!
How arrogant for him to say…quote…

Hey Cena, News Flash you are booked as a FACE!!! Probably 80% of the WWE Universe, and Wrestling Online Fan Base, Dislike and even Hate you as a face!!! Hence they boo you at most house shows, and Raw Shows in the States.
The only reason they still book Cena as a face, is to continue to push his WWE merchadise at alarming rate, to the 7-14 age demographic. Plus all his straight to DVD, B-movie career is another reason, WWE Management continue to book him as a face.
As wrestling fan, wouldn’t be refreshing to have Cena booked as a Monster Heel?! Team up with Orton, and then turn on Leagcy and Orton.
“Cena enough”
It sounds like Cena is reading a card that Vince Mcmahon wrote
