Cena At Fiesta Bowl, WWE Women Honored, Lawler On Hogan, Hulk Disses Russo

- Thanks to Colin Vassallo:
The Arizona Republic is reporting that current WWE champion John Cena has been selected as the grand marshal in the Fort McDowell Fiesta Bowl Parade this January. He will be involved in the game-day coin toss as well as leading the parade. “As both a former college football athlete and an electric entertainer, John will make the perfect Fiesta Bowl ambassador to college football fans and the entire state of Arizona,” said Fiesta Bowl Chairman of the Board Alan Young in a press release. The parade starts at 11AM on January 2 while the game will be played on January 4 at the University of Phoenix Stadium, the site of WrestleMania XXVI.

- WWE’s Stephanie McMahon, Donna Goldsmith and Michelle Wilson were listed in the November issue of CableFAX Magazine as the “Most Powerful Women in Cable 2009″.

- Jerry “The King” Lawler gave his opinion on TNA signing Hulk Hogan during an interview with the UK Sun newspaper. He said, “I’ve told this to a lot of people, and I don’t know if they believe it, but no one in the WWE ever talks about TNA. There is no concern whatsoever. They don’t acknowledge, think or worry about them. Even with Hulk Hogan, I don’t think the WWE feel they are any threat at all. Maybe they don’t worry if TNA does well as competition is a good thing. The best years WWE had was when we were embroiled in the big war with WCW.”

- Speaking of Hulk, surprisingly it took him several weeks before dissing Vince Russo. He told SportFM Radio in Perth, Australia that “I hate the writers. I cannot stand that they have a writing team sitting in the back telling the wrestlers what to say and telling the wrestlers what to do in the ring”.

He went on to say he reached out to Steve Austin but did not receive an answer.

  1. I definitely agree with Lawler – it would be great to see WWE getting some real firm competition again.

  2. Reached out to Steve Austin for what?
The WWE really dosent acknowledge TNA at all. I said this before. When ron “the truth” Killings came back to New York. They implied he was in jail… Get it, TNA is jail.

  3. “I hate the writers. I cannot stand that they have a writing team sitting in the back telling the wrestlers what to say and telling the wrestlers what to do in the ring”.

See, when Hogan says stuff like the above quote, it ALMOST makes me believe that he is going to be a good thing for TNA. Unfortunately, he will be back to making outlandish and unbelievable claims tomorrow.
