Bret Hart Leaves Fans Hanging, Bobby Lashley News, More JR

- Hundreds of wrestling fans waited up to three hours in the rain only to be denied the chance to meet former world champion Bret Hart.

The Canadian wrestler had agreed to sign copies of his autobiography for an hour on Sunday at Waterstones in Glasgow’s Sauchiehall Street.

But disappointed fans were turned away after the star left the store.

Waterstones insisted more than 300 people had met Bret. A spokesman said he had spent a long time with each fan but some people did miss out.

He added: “It is really up to the star if they do a quick signature and go or decide to spend quality time. We are hopeful Bret will be back in the future.”

- Bobby Lashley was backstage at the Victory Road PPV, but not appear on camera. As reported last week he is now officially a part of the roster.

The current plan is to bring him in as a top face to battle the Mafia, but knowing TNA’s creative they may easily swerve us for the sake of it.

- Jim Ross is back with another JRSBARBQ.com blog. Here are the wrestling highlights:

On Guest Hosts:
“I’m beginning to like the guest host business for Raw more and feel like there are many WWE HOF’ers, for example, who can talk and who would be great “one off” hosts of WWE’s top television priority, the home of the “A Listers,” Monday Night Raw. Certainly celeb’s who have projects to promote are viable candidates and especially those that are fans of the genre such as Seth Green last week in Orlando and ZZ Top coming up this Monday from North Carolina State University.”

On Young Guys:
“The way that Cowboy Bill Watts turned a young Magnum T.A. loose in Mid South Wrestling is really the methodology that promoters need to consider utilizing to create a winning and marketable aura for a new wrestler. Magnum had a great look, aptitude, and work ethic not to mention a solid amateur background when Watts got him and decided to put T.A. in the starting backfield and to give Terry Allen plenty of “carries.” This is somewhat where guys like John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler are right now on SmackDown…

Radio Show:
“I had a meeting last week with sports talk radio station KREF, AM1400 in Norman, to discuss me doing something on a weekly basis on the station. We’re still in the talking stages but it would help promote J.R.’s Family BBQ which is located in the same city as well as other projects of which I am involved. The cool thing is that the station has a website that provides streaming video of their hosts doing their work in the studio plus they have a national watts line and take email questions. I hope that if I get involved with KREF that you will consider checking it out. I would likely be on late week in the afternoon and for a hour or so not to mention the possibility of doing something surrounding the pre or post game OU Football broadcasts. KREF doesn’t carry the actual OU Football games but who knows what could happen there some day in the future?”

On The Road:
“Some folks took issue with what i said recently about a veteran who wasn’t looking froward with anxious anticipation a challenging and lengthy upcoming road trip. I mentioned, partially tongue in cheek and with a line from “The Sopranos” that “this is the life that you chose.” The wrestling business has always been challenging for a variety of reasons notwithstanding the physical toll the genre provides but also the travel. Travel is simply no fun as a rule. I am personally not a fan of weekly travel especially after so many years of doing it and with all the delays and hassles at virtually every airport I frequent….

  1. Man Bret Hart is a Piece of Shit. He always thought he was bigger than he was.

  2. thats prety horrible from bret. also why hav lashley as the big face battling the mafia? this whole storyline was created cos of the “big names” coming in takin spots from originals

  3. 1ST OFF

THERE WAS 2 SIGNNINGS IN SCOTLAND THE GLASGOW 1 STARTED AT 12.30 HE CAME OUT AT 12

SO HE SIGNED TILL HALF 2 THEN LEFT TO GOT TO EDINBOURGH TO SIGN AT HALF 3 TILL 5 SO THE FANS WHO ARE ANNOYED THEY SHOULD HAVE CAME EARLY CUZ THE LADY IN THE WATERSTONES STORE SAID THERE WAS A LOT OF INTREST AND TO COME EARLY SO NOT BRET FAULT FANS WERE TOLD WEEKS B4 TO COME EARLY FOR THE SIGNNING SO BACK OFF

  4. Bret pulled the same crap at a Best Buy in Philadelphia a few years ago when his WWE DVD bio came out…..I drove an hour and a half waited in line for a few hours and then he told them he was done at the stated time……Hes still my favorite wrestler of all time but as for a people person he’s a jerk off…..

As much as Im not a Cena fan, I waited with my son for his autograph…..he stayed till every last person got their pic and autograph with him…..and thats why hes good for business

  5. Come on! Bret had to be at two signings that day. He was scheduled in Glasgow from 12-1 pm. He arrived there at about 11:30 am I think (so was there even earlier) and left at about 1:30 pm (half an hour later) to make the signing in Edinburgh. He stayed overtime there until everyone had their autograph. And he took a lot of quality time with all his fans…even took another picture with us after he was finished in Edinburgh.
My friend and I came from Germany to see him and it was a lot of stress and we were afraid we might be disappointed, but it didn´t happen. We arrived early at the Waterstones in Glasgow (about 3 hours earlier) so we were quite sure to meet him. After that we took the next train to Edinburgh, got on a bus to the Ocean Terminal Building and thought we might not see him again that day when we saw the queue. But as I said, he signed an autograph for everyone there. I cannot agree with what is stated above. He was a class act and I don´t think it is his fault that fans were disappointed in Glasgow. They just should have been there early. Everyone knew Bret had another signing that day, so it was clear that he couldn´t stay a lot longer than scheduled.
