Bischoff Continues WWE Hatred, TV Taping Updates, Latest JR
- Celebrity Championship Wrestling’s Eric Bischoff is continuing his “controversy creates cash” philosophy by continuing his tirade against WWE (started the other day when he claimed WWE’s lawsuit against them for using the Brutus Beefcake name was unjust and bullying).
His latest email newsletter reads “Bill Goldberg and YOU vs. Vince McMahon and the WWE.”
Somebody needs to inform Bischoff (and TNA) that the Monday night Wars was a decade ago and that CCW only draws a 0.3 rating at best.
- The WWE TV taping in Omaha, Nebraska on January 13th, 2009 has been changed to a double Smackdown taping. WWE was originally going to tape an episode of Smackdown and an episode of ECW at that event. WWE has canceled the Smackdown taping in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 20th, 2009
- Jim Ross chimed in with Raw thoughts on his JRSBARBQ.com blog today; here are the highlights:
On Steph:
“Stephanie McMahon will be a significant upgrade over former GM Mike Adamle. Good move for Raw.”
On Miz & Morrison:
“Love the team of Miz and Morrison in an otherwise lackluster tag team scene. These 2 young talents have significant upsides.” [I agree but they need to go clean over DX Now, before their window to greatness closes!]
On IC Title:
“Building focus on the IC title is a good thing, especially if it leads to Champ William Regal, a viable contender, which will help the title and the broadcast.”
On Mike Knox:
“Mike Knox has my interest, especially if he can deliver verbally. He’s a big, young, rugged kid. Opportunity may be knocking for Knox who reminds me of a very young Bruiser Brody.”
On John Cena:
“John Cena coming through the crowd and genuinely interacting w/ them worked. A more aggressive, more physical Cena should help John in the long haul especially w/ young male fans.”

So Bischoff’s big selling point is…Bill Goldberg?
BWAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah; an over-hyped flash-in-the-pan who is nearly 10 years removed from his glory days ought to get the job done, Eric.
Granted, Goldberg had a phenomenal run but it lasted – what? – a year? Two?
Somebody needs to inform Bischoff (and TNA) that the Monday night Wars was a decade ago and that CCW only draws a 0.3 rating at best.
You are very dumb for a news reporter you know that>? 0.3 is actually very good, And it around the same as Raw you know? Networks rate their ratings very differently and a 0.3 is a 3.0 you know that? Meaning they’re actually close to Raw. You just sound like one of those dumb ass WWE marks! If you want to actually make this site succeed, Get news up faster, Post important news and not crappy stuff. Stop with the terrible jokes and don’t post things you don’t know are true!
Oh look Eric Bischoff left a comment^
0.3 is a very acceptable rating, but it is nowhere near the realm of WWE, even with discrepancies due to the Network’s overall reach and the difference of it obviously being a different day than Raw.
And it’s not networks that rate their shows, its the independent Nielsen Media company.
And the site is already succeeding right in to my bank account.
A 0.3 is not even remotely close to a 3.0.
A “0.3″ means 0.3 % of all estimated television households were tuned into CCW. A 3.0 means 3% of all households were tuned in to Raw. The difference between three-tenths and three is pretty huge. It’s the difference between 338,400 and 3,384,000 (which is about where the numbers would be when taking into account that there are an estimated 112.8 million television households in the U.S.).
If by, “[T]hey’re actually close to Raw” you mean “Raw has ten viewers to every one viewer who is stoned enough to watch Hogan’s CCW”, you might be on to something, Joe.
Do a little research and run the numbers. Only takes about 2 minutes.
Oops.
Raw got a 2.4, so subtract around 300,000 from my above Raw total.
Make it an 8:1 ratio of viewers between Raw and CCW rather than 10:1.
Umm…I mean subract around 700,000. Damn I wish we could delete/edit comments after they have been submitted but before they have been approved!
LOL
I’m laughing up here in the Admin control panel but I can only approve or delete lol. Maybe in 2020 it’ll be updated.
Tell him AIC, I watched 1 episode of CCW. I don’t think watching Hulk Hogan bowing down to skreech because he did a half a** DDT on a chair. But it did have some really cool sound effects <-(NOT)
Really, It’s a disgrase to everything wrestling. If they really knew hat they where doing. They wouldn’t need cheesey sound effects and a bogus crowd that was probably paid to be there. I know they would have to pay me to sit and watch that crap!
