Batista Injury Update, Flair Working With Cena Sr, Hardy’s Fake Belt, JR

- Batista went under surgery on Boxing day and all went successful. Doctors repaired a damaged ligament in his hamstring.

- Reid Flair will be on the Big Time Wrestling show on March 28th in the main event with Ric in his corner against John Walters, who will have John Cena Sr in his corner.

- For whatever reason Jeff Hardy is not allowed to carry the real WWE title belt, and actually walks around with a less valuable replica that contains Plexiglas. As noted his belt still reads Raw on it. The real belt is only used on PPV and big matches to get good camera shots.

- Jim Ross is back with another JRSBARBQ.com blog; here are the wrestling highlights:

On Screw Job:
“I see where “Wrestling with Shadows” is making a 10th Anniversary return with a new interview from Bret Hart. The “Hitman” is one of my all time favorite people and any wrestling fan who doesn’t read his autobiography really needs to evaluate if they are actually a wrestling fan or not. However, I am totally over talking about the 1997 Survivor Series and the never ending story of controversy that has followed it. I do know conclusively that neither myself or the King, who were broadcasting the show that night from Montreal, were unaware of the game plan, and that we did not come near the ‘grassy knoll.’”

On Batista:
“There is never a good time to be injured but perhaps this will allow Batista to come back fresher than ever and sometimes absence makes the fan’s hearts grow fonder. The controversial Randy Orton is proof of such.”

On Canada:
“I don’t agree with what has been said about Canada being “Bizarroland” where they cheer for some wrestlers that other fans don’t. Canadian fans simply are a loyal lot who enjoy cheering for their countrymen (and women). Nothing wrong with that and I think that the American TV viewer or any other viewer can easily understand such without too much explanation.”

On Signs:
“We are getting ample emails on my recent comments on signs that fans bring to events. First of all, I do not make nor do I enforce the sign policy, what ever that may be. I am not a member of the sign police. There are signs that are confiscated that I would not waste my energy on and as Larry the Cable Guy would say, “Let it Go.” Profane signs that kids have to ask their mom’s and dad’s to explain to them aren’t good in this sort of family gathering. Times have changed from the attitude era to today. One can easily argue, for better or for worse, but it is what it is. If a PG rated wrestling show isn’t to one’s liking then they should simply change channels. When I watch a NFL game that gets boring or isn’t a compelling broadcast for whatever reason, I am reaching for the channel changer. Point is I cannot nor will I try to convince anyone of what is approiate and what isn’t regarding signs. The WWE rents the facilities, promotes the events with their money and manages said events as they see fit.”

  1. ROFL. Gee. I wonder why Jeff isn’t allowed to carry the real one. They wanted him as champ cause he’s mega over, they probably just don’t want him pawning the belt for drug money or something.

  2. Speaking of injuries, after watching the end of SmackDown! this week with Jeff Hardy beating The Big Show via countout, and Matt celebrating with Jeff, the WWE champ seemed to be favouring his left arm and after Matt lifted it seemed to look like it freakin hurt, look out for Jeff not being in action in the next couple of weeks or if it comes to the worst a message on WWE.com =[

  3. Is Jeff the only champ with a fake belt or has it been like that for everyone?

  4. Wow JR is a bit full of it isn’t he. That whole thing about Canadians cheering for their own country men, is Santino Morella Canadian? Is Randy Orton? Fact is like the British fans did a few weeks ago the Canadian fans cheer for wrestlers who really entertain them, not just flashes in the pan and whoever is popular this month. I remember a couple of summerslams ago where the faces Eugene and Eddie Gurerro were booed over Triple H and Kurt Angle because Canadians respect wrestling ability (of course Gurerro had a great wrestling ability but in that match it was more a cheering of Angles wrestling than a booing of Gurerros).

Also that rubbish about a ‘PG wrestling show’, thats why they have guys getting split open and girls running around in skimpy costumes. At some point the WWE are going to have to make a choice because at the moment the mixture of “kid friendly” TV and horny announcers yelling cat calls at divas (only a slight exaggeration) is a bit too much to stomach.

  5. That’s so stupid to have Jeff carry the fake WWE title. Does John Cena have to carry a fake belt around his waist? I think not.

  6. To be honest I’m not sure if this is a rule just for Jeff. It may have only just come in to place but I don’t think it was because of Jeff, just he happened to be champ at the time.

  7. “That’s so stupid to have Jeff carry the fake WWE title. Does John Cena have to carry a fake belt around his waist? I think not.”

That would be because he isn’t bordering on falling off the wagon every time you see him. I’d bet it’s a special rule for Jeff, because he’s Jeff.

  8. JEFF HARDY HAS FOR A LONG TIME BEEN ON DRUG ABUSE WATCH IN THE WWE…HE HAS ALSO BEEN TOLD THAT IF HE GETS THAT THIRD STRIKE WHEN I COMES TO DRUGS (HE ALREADY HAS 2 STRIKES HE WILL BE FIRED…PEOPLE THAT HAVE A TENDENCY TO DO ILLEGAL DRUGS JUST CAN’T BE TRUSTED…THERE.

  9. why is everybody so retarded there’s been a fake WWE belt for a while b/c socitey is gettin crazy and if someone sees the WWE champ vulnerable it’s so easy to knock them out from behind and take the belt and get rich! Also Jeff never abused drugs he smoked pot once in a while which dosen’t hurt anyone! Let me make myself clear, HE NEVER ABUSED DRUGS!!!!!!!! Plus Cena’s belt is close to worthless it’s not acutal gold! It’s very clever for the WWE to have a fake belt so nobody steals it, it’s been that way for a while, but nobody noticed until they noticed RAW is still on the belt!

  10. You’re absolutely right about the belt, but to say Jeff Hardy has never abused drugs would be ignorant. He has gone on record numerous times admitting he’s had a problem and if he only smoked pot he wouldn’t have been suspended only fined.
