Axl Rotten Writing Autobiography, Taz Discusses TNA Debut, HBK Update
- ECW original Axl Rotten is currently writing an autobiography about his life and experiences in the wrestling business. He posted a short snippet on his Myspace:
It’s a beautiful bright Spring day in Glen Burnie, Maryland. I am sitting in the bathroom in my friend Mike’s apartment with the door locked. I just finished cooking up a batch of heroin. The search for a vein was about to begin. I poked around my arm and wrist for about five minutes until I found a spot in my hand to hit. I drew the plunger back and saw my blood in the tube. I slowly pushed the warm liquid into the vein on top of my right hand. It was on…The warm rush and overall feeling of well being washed over my entire body. I felt awesome…until I stood up! The next two or three minutes could have very well been my last.
I took two steps out of the bathroom and muttered “Man, that was some good shit.” That’s all I recall of that great feeling. I collapsed breaking my foot and dying right there in the hallway of that two bedroom apartment. Now I lay dead on the floor, from the account my Aunt gave me she literally beat me back to life. She said that she hit me over and over on the chest and face, throwing ice cold water on me. I gasped for air and woke up. She said my first words were “Stop fuckin’ hitting me.” to which she replied through her tears “Stop fuckin’ dying!”
Logical people may ask…”How does a guy who just signed a potential three year deal with the largest professional wrestling company (WWE) wind up dead on a floor in a apartment complex? Well, nothing about my life at that point was logical.
- Taz, who debuted at TNA’s Victory Road PPV had this to say on his Facebook:
“I think some of you thought I was gonna come out and suplex someone Or choke someone out. I physically CAN NOT WRESTLE ANYMORE!! I cannot BUMP anymore. I have numbness in my right arm on a daily basis…I have about 40% range of motion in my neck folks! For the 20th Billion time…I’m DONE. Hence why I am an announcer.
I met Joe for the 1st time on Sunday and by Monday I felt like I knew the dude 20 years…no BS! Awesome guy, great attitude & tremendous athlete! I’m proud to work with him!
And for those who are obsessed with my body weight, I lost 17 lbs during my 90 Days….I wish I can say it was more but I like to EAT….sorry.”
- The feeling is still that Shawn Michaels will be returning at Summerslam, although nothing is set in stone. WWE have already been adding his name to advertisements for the event.

what a shame we have realy lost a great talent my friend tazz iam very sorry to hear that and there is no chance we can see you fight thats just sad
What the heck is this website about wrestling doing a self help guide to shoot up with heroin and dying over it? I know you say to speak in a forum but I want to speak directly to the owner of this website. You could speak of this in a less graphic manner. I do not want my sons and grand children to read this on a wrestling website. You crossed the line. Just one persons opinion.
It’s a chapter from Axl Rotten’s book not my personal article. Like it or not, the wrestling business is swamped by this sort of stuff.
I’d hope you’ve educated your grandchildren enough to not blindly copy what is written. If so I’m fairly sure they won’t turn in to junkies tomorrow.
sometimes people in life NEED graphic writing to get the point across!!!
if that man’s writing helps 1 person…it’s well worth it!!
i have lost friends due to drugs and they just never ever listen to close friends…even if you sit on ‘em and yell.

as to hbk…i hope he wrestles again…but i don’t want any of these guys doing it just for the crowd…
like Tazz…he knows his limits and that’s good…i’m proud of the man for what he’s done!!
JT, no one cares about your self serving opinion. If you dont want your kids reading about a guy who has been in the wrestling business and experienced “The High’s” and “The Low’s” with what comes with it then DON’T let them read it. I find people like Rotten’s story to be the most interesting to read, its all nice to read about Dave Batista who came in, became a star and then made a sh*t load of money in 3 months. But the guys like Axl who did the indy circuit, put there mind, body and soul on the line for minimal pay off and finally made a name for themselves in ECW when him and “his brother” decided they were going to beat the sh*t out of each with broken glass stuck to there fists. Not everybody has a “happy story” mate and you really have to open your eyes to the world if you want to go around abusing website owners over post a excerpt of someone’s auto-biography.
Get a clue my friend.
