Full Report:
- Shelton Benjamin def. Zack Ryder:
Unable to compete as tag team partners on last week’s ECW, Shelton Benjamin and Zack Ryder squared off against each other. Regardless of their competitions to determine which is the more entertaining Superstar, The Gold Standard came out on top when it came down to a match. Despite a strong effort by Ryder, Benjamin hit Paydirt on the cocky, Long Island-bred Superstar to seal the Extreme victory. Is that the end of these Superstars’ rivalry? Or will Benjamin and Ryder continue to clash on Tuesday nights?
- “The Abraham Washington Show” with Gregory Helms:
After an introduction by his new sidekick, WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas, Abraham Washington welcomed this week’s special guest – Gregory Helms. The ECW backstage interviewer has been surrounded by controversy lately. Paul Burchill and his sister, Katie Lea, are convinced Helms is really The Hurricane. But during the talk show, the superhero Superstar appeared on the “Hurri-Cam” to challenge The Ripper to a match on next week’s ECW on Syfy. Will Burchill finally prove his theory that Helms is really The Hurricane? Will the masked Superstar triumph against his foe?
- Ezekiel Jackson & Vladimir Kozlov def. local competitors:
With William Regal at ringside, Ezekiel Jackson & Vladimir Kozlov easily defeated two local competitors in ECW tag team action. The British Brawler further punished one of his associates’ opponents with The Regal Stretch, but was interrupted by ECW Champion Christian and Tommy Dreamer, both wielding Singapore Canes. While Jackson and Kozlov put up a strong fight, Christian and Dreamer prevailed, gaining the upper hand against No. 1 contender Regal and his devious associates. On next week’s ECW, Christian & Dreamer will meet Jackson & Kozlov in tag team action. The ECW Champion and the ECW Original have momentum going into this match, but do they have what it takes to defeat Regal’s unstoppable associates?
- Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels – The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania Special:
In a special ECW encore of The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania Special, the WWE Universe was treated to highlights of Undertaker’s 17-0 defeat of Shawn Michaels.
- Sheamus def. Goldust (No Count-Outs, No Disqualifications):
After a double count-out finish to their last match, and an intense confrontation recently on “The Abraham Washington Show,” Sheamus and Goldust were determined to put their intense rivalry to the test once again. In a No Count-Outs, No Disqualifications Match, The Celtic Warrior defeated The Bizarre One. But the win didn’t come easily, as Goldust powerfully fought off numerous attacks by Sheamus – who at one point retreated up the ramp, mid-match – before finally succumbing to The Irish Curse. Is this the end of the road for Sheamus and Goldust? Has The Celtic Warrior finally proven he’s the dominant Superstar?

I hope this is the end of the rivalry between Shemus and Goldust. Though the said rivalry is entertaining, I would rather see Dustin Rhodes vs Cody Rhodes. Especially after what happen last Monday on Raw.
I find it really disheartening when news sites disrespect indy wrestlers by not bothering to print their names. A lot of these guys are terrific entertainers and work very hard for very little money. Often they are the top guys in their area, but because they don’t have the massive size and musculature Vince and Dixie like this is likely to be their only shot at national exposure, and they get dismissed as “local jobber.” At least you had the courtesy to say “local competitors” but it would have been more fitting to find out and publish their names. After all, finding out facts is part of a reporter’s job.
I respect what you are saying, but jobber is not an inherently negative term. They play an important role of putting other guys over. 9 times out of 10 the audience that reads this site will not have heard of the competitor. I’ll often name them if they are former TNA stars etc.
WWE.com themselves doesn’t name the athlete.
Well, the “local jobber” name is used for exactly what the title implies, you’re a local jobber. As Keelan said, you’re only function is to put over “other guys” aka up and coming talent or established talent. They don’t list you guys by name because, well… think of it this way, you guys are kinda like the unknown guys on the old Star Trek episodes. You the ones who are beamed down to the unknown planet with the established stars. You know they probably won’t make it back on the ship, but you watch because it builds the main baddie. I’m not sure if any of that applies to what you guys where talking about, though.
I guess what I’m trying to say is the “local jobber” does need to be recognize in print as they are a important part to an entire whole.
Actually, that sounds a lot better than the whole Star Trek metaphor.
