- Kofi Kingston beat Dolph Ziggler in a dark match prior to the PPV.

- Christian defeated “The All-American American” Jack Swagger to win the ECW Championship.

  1. Every match felt like it deserved to be on the card, and even the Santino segment which seemed like it was going to bomb ended up really good.

The crowd seemed to deflate a little in the I Quit and the six-man matches, and the action lulled a bit, but they made up with incredible finishes.

Backlash was one of the best shows WWE’s put on in a long time. WM25 was mediocre, it was pretty much a one-match card. Backlash only ever had a couple of dull moments, and then they were compensated for.

Definitely a five star show IMO.

  2. i agree. every match deserved five stars. i can’t wait for the next pay-per-view.

  3. Surprised when Cena FU’d Edge through the crowd.

  4. No kidding about the crowd. I have heard of “killing a crowd” before, but that’s just taking it a bit too literally! :p

  5. I wouldn’t call Edge winning the World Heavyweight title by cheating again for the 100th time as 5-star. Why can’t he beat the guy and pin him without anyone helping? That will look nice in the books. 11 time champion – most of the win’s with someone’s help. When he wins by cheating again, it ruins the pay-per-view, I cant remember the last time he won without anyone helping.

  6. no doubt it is going to be one of the best ppv this year and matches were better then wrestlemania(excluding taker/micheals)
every match was 5 star and above the expectations

and one who didn’t bought ppv is really going to be pissed off.
the whole show was awesome with an awesome end

  7. I really dislike Randy Orton. His character is too unbelievable. No one can be that way in real life and not get locked up. However he is a good wrestler, and thus deserves my respect, even if I don’t like “him”. I am dreading him as champion, I’m just grateful I have a DVR so I can fast forward through his more obnoxious segments.

I like Edge, and I also like Cena so it was difficult to choose who to root for. I went with Cena just because I think this whole Vickie/Show/Edge story is stupid as hell. Other then that I would have gone for Edge in this match. He play crazy really well. On a side note I hope they team him and Christian up again that would be really cool.

  8. Edge and Christian should definitely team together as world champions at the night of champions. Only problem is that hes stuck in ECW with mediocre stars, theyll probably push Kozlov towards him.

  9. What Big Show did to John Cena was uncalled fot.It was vicious.Edge would never have won if not for Big Show.Vicky needs to get fired she was the 1 that sent Big Show out

  10. Well I really wanted Shane to turn so in that I’m dissapointed. Other then that the show was good. I could see Edge winning because smackdown needs A belt. It also sets up a Cena/Big Show feud (that we’ve seen before but whatever).
I’d just like to see at least one McMahon as a heel. They had such a good chance. As far as I’m concerned, they dropped the ball.

  11. I DON’T LIKE RANDY ORTON AND TRIPLE H SHOULD HAVE WON THE MATCH. I’M GLAD THAT JEFF HARDY WON HE IS REALLY COOL MY KIDS LIKE HIM ALOT.

  12. jeff hardy is a cool superstar & defeated his brother matt hardy.injustice was done with john cena

  13. Thank god Randy Orton is the “New” WWE champion. I like Triple H as well, but enough was enought, it was getting a little borning. Randy Orton has proven himself time and time again, and finally he get the well deserved spotlight.

  14. thats write jeff is really cool and awesome wrestler

and the word ‘extreme’ would no be in wwe without jeff hardy

i want to see him as a champ again

  15. BACKLASH was the best PPV in quite a while IMO

  16. I guess Triple H getting punted and put out of action now allows him to film his debut WWE Film “Journey of Death”. I guess Randy will feud with Batista until Triple H returns.

  17. John Cena well deserved that belt but he’d didn’t and i’m OK with it.
