The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that the Sean "Xpac" Waltman suicide rumor, first brought up by Juventud Guerrera was in fact true. Waltman's girlfriend Alicia "Ryan Shamrock" Webb reportedly found him hanging in his Mexico City apartment on the verge of death; luckily she got there in time.

It is believed that he received medical help and then Kevin Nash got in touch with Triple H to sort out the WWE paid rehab that Waltman is now undertaking.

Fellow Mexican star Juventud Guerrera originally told the media about this story but Waltman denied it, saying he had a bad reaction with antidepressants and alcohol.

The father of Webb's children is currently trying to get his kids back from Mexico, obviously worried under the circumstances.

The most shocking thing about this story is that I'm not at all surprised. As wrestling fans we have almost become accustomed to such tragic events. Waltman is the remains of the rocking wrestling 90's, many are dead, some cleaned up and just as many wrestlers are still having serious issues. I commend WWE for giving former employees paid rehab, but it seems more of a PR thing than them actually giving a damn. Like I said in the Benoit aftermath, this may be linked to a certain generation of wrestlers, but to truly tell, we'll need to wait until the younger stars reach the same age as the Benoit's and the Waltman's, then we'll see how clean the sport has become and if Vince should take a bigger share of the blame. Unfortunately this will not be the last story I report about drugs death and wrestling.

That Punk is a very entertaining wrestler than just happens to have some issues. You would crumble in the wrestling industry.

Why should Vince be to blame for Waltman trying to kill himself? Vince has been offering to pay for his rehab since BEFORE the Benoit stuff happened.

I don't get why Vince is to blame for every single bad thing that happens to every single pro wrestler? Yeah, he's done some fucked up shit in his time, but to blame him for every single wrong doing in wrestling? Wrestlers have been scumbags long before Vince McMahon, and they will be long after.

Sucks that Waltman is going through whatever he is going through. Dude has always been one of my favorites. 1-2-3 Kid was first blowing up when I first got into wrestling. Not to mention I got to see his stuff with Jerry Lynn, pre-WWF, on that old GWF show on ESPN2. I was too young to really appreciate it, but looking back, I'm glad I got to see it. Hopefully this run in rehab will help him. His friends need to keep him the fuck out of Mexico, though, if they want him to stay alive.

I shouldn't really have slipped Vince's name in there. I'm trying to make the point that WWE are trying to portray a "clean" image and wrestlers keep doing media appearances stating the past generations, aka Xpac were wild druggies but the current WWE lockeroom is clean. Yet we'll know if they are talking rubbish when they end up dieing in the same fashion 10 years down the line.
