From the main site: http://wrestlingtruth.com/news/stephanie-m...push-new-stars/

Sources inside WWE have let slip that at the recent TV tapings Stephanie McMahon held a meeting where she said it was time for the company to push some new stars and that everybody will be given a chance to take the ball and run with it as long as they work hard.

Traditionally if wrestlers go to management with ideas it’s often seen in a negative light, but she also mentioned that they are now going to encourage stars to pitch their own gimmicks and storylines.

Over the past few years the system has been seen as a double edged sword. They say that nobody is taking the ball, but then punish stars if they deviate from the script. They constantly tell developmental that nobody is good enough, but they are simply following the style taught to them.

If there is truth to this meeting it could allow stars to break out on their own merit, however I won’t believe it until I see it.

So like Kee says, I'll believe it when I see it. They say they are worried about new stars, but they script everything so much that nobody can break out, like Austin 3:16 etc.

I think the developmental territory is flawed big time. They train them poorly, bitch at them for having no talent, give them a crappy gimmick then release them for not getting over.

They need to contract guys and act as agents, sending them out to the Indys, Japan etc before bringing them up.

They need to let wrestlers cut their own promos before matches so their real personality comes through.

I think they'll do it. Punk is starting to have a great run. ECW, which I used to skip weekly is now my favorite show because it isn't the same old crap every week. There are a lot of new faces on there...some will stick, some won't, but I like the idea of using that show to get the developmental guys ready for prime time.

Yeah, since this was reported they seem to have gone in that direction.
