well in honor of my attempt at returning to my enjoyment of wrestling as a whole..been out of watching for almost a year now due to the state of the business as a whole and the fact that its just plain boring to watch now..plus I'm preparing for college and hopefully football so there just arent enough hours in the day for wrestling..but now..as I'm relaxing once again I have returned to wrestling to try and rekindle my love for it..please everybody..hold your applause..I know its one of the greatest days in wrestling history..but anyway the point of the this thread is discussion of what I truly think is the best promotion in the United States and arguably the world over the past 4 or so years..Ring of Honor..any relevant discussion of ROH wrestlers should be brought here to discuss excluding show results/thoughts..so anyway what are your people's opinions on Ring of Honor..as I haven't watched in awhile my opinions still are back around the CZW/ROH feud and the year of 2007..so please people discuss away..thank you

You know about Gabe being demoted to a blogger now?

To me ROH has always been too much of a good thing. Cheeseburgers are awesome, but 8 in a row? I can only stomach one or two ROH matches before having to have a 3 month break. They just do too much straight from match one and as a fan I get exhausted by time Danielson or somebody comes out. The idea of wrestling is to build the pop to the main event, whereas ROH seemed to have the "steal it in every match" philosophy.

The Adam Pearce direction (at least how it has been described) seems to be altering this.

I really liked ROH back in the day. I haven't watched ANYTHING from them in like, 2 years though. While I really enjoyed their product, it was a bitch to try and keep up with them. Buying 2-3 DVDs a month to stay current on the storylines? Fuck all that noize, son. I did download two recent shows from them. I want to see how Pearce is as booker. So, ROH = cool in my book, but I'm not into going broke to follow the product.

There's something about a HDNet TV deal, where Net will even pick up the production tab, so that could be interesting. I'm curious to see how ROH delivers a TV product, with the backstage skits and all.

yeah..I know about Gabe which I felt was a shame..I think I'm going to see both ROH shows during Wrestlemania weekend down here in Houston..so that should be alot of fun and am really excited to see in person what Pearce has done with the company..not to mention wanting to see American Dragon(in my eyes the best in the world as of the last time I watched him).. Nigel Mcguinness, Tyler Black, and the Dragon Gate guys..as they always bring in the top DG guys during Wrestlemania weekend for the Supercard of Honor show...

yeah the other day some guy was mentioning how they hated how often they defend the World Title and was hoping they would start to do it like in NOAH where you could hold the belt for a year but only have like 4-6 title defenses..there is just something about ROH though that appeals to me..its an amazing mix of all aspects of wrestling..and the perfect alternative to TNA and WWE here in America haha

ROH to me are nowhere near as enjoyable as what they once were. They are lacking the personalities they once had/used to keep shows fresh and I guess to follow on from the cheeseburger theory added a nice side to the cheeseburger rather then another side serving of cheeseburger. A lot of their guys that could make it bigger have done so and left besides the obvious key few which leaves us with workers that are missing that certain something to make them appealing to watch all the time.
