I hate to pose the same argument as everyone else but John Cena really is overrated. This guy doesnt have the greatest move set and everything about him is stale. I doubt that the children really like this guy. Is it a proven fact? I mean i have not doubt that rey mysterio is accepted by the kids, theres always some kid in the audience wearing his mask. I personally just think that john cena's entrance music hypes the crowd up but once he talks he comes across as a huge disappointment. He needs to reinvent himself much like half the main event scene. His clothes are tired, his promos are tired, and worst of all his matches are tired.

I don't know how many times I've said this to my friends, but, he just need to be back with his old gimmick, with all his mic stuff, freestyling on every opponent, and raising hell just like he did back on smackdown weeks before Wrestlemania XX.

But, I'm 21, and I'm proud to be a Cena fan since the beginning, he's got something good, I don't know what it is, but I like the guy, and I have to agree with you, all his matches are tired, but he's always facing the same guys, Show, Edge, Orton, Triple H, JBL and HBK, the same 6 guys he faced for the last 2 years !

Just need some ass kicking in the "Creative" department of the WWE, and get rid of this stupid Teen Rating, and I'm damn sure he'll be back with some freestyle and great ass-whooping !

I really liked the early days of his rap gimmick.

The funniest (and only) one I remember was when he told Funaki, "I'll slap you in your two-tone mullet and kick you in your camel toe."

Ah yes...good times.

He can have good matches with most people, and there's no denying his mic work, but he just aint my cup of tea. I hate to sound redundant, but he just doesn't have an "attitude". Wrestling should be about tension and conflict, and lets of testosterone.

In the world of the WWE, you take what you can get. Since they are going PG, the "Atittude" has toned down. Kind of weird, since that's what got them the fans in the first place, but, anyway.

As for Cena, you have to remember, he does what he is told. His gimmick is that of a brawler, and that's how he works. If anyone has seen him in OVW as Prototype, he was actually a bit of a mat wrestler.

Cena isn't the problem, creative and producers are.

I've said many times on here that I like Cena as a performer, but the last two posts are pretty much on the money.

He is used improperly and there is no depth to his persona, much like most of the "characters" on the roster. The only ones with any real depth are Jericho, HBK, Taker, HHH and (arguably) Edge.

There's no real back story or tradition that makes us care about John Cena because it's the same thing over and over again. Feuds last a month or two and, a year later, no one remembers or cares about them. Not just Cena but everyone.

The only John Cena feud that stands out in my memory is his program with the Undertaker, back when he was still a rapper.

Had John Cena been around 25 years ago, every one on this board (all five of us laugh.gif) would still be talking about his legendary career and wishing there were more guys like him on the scene today.

Unfortunately for him (and us), his career his taking place today...in a time when no one really knows what to do with him other than have him wear a championship belt around his neck and pretend to be some bizarre cross between an apple pie marine and a wannabe-thug.

Cena is much less annoying than he was, but he still remains by far the most annoying guy in the whole of WWE.
