This week's topic of the week asks, what do you think were some of the best high spots in wrestling history, and what were some of the phoniest?

I'll start by saying the obvious, Mick Foley falling off the Hell in a Cell.
One of the worst I'd say would be when Kurt Angle was chokeslammed off the balcony on Smackdown and they did the old camera trickery.

No particular rules here, just state your argument.

I used to think Sting falling off the WCW tron was awesome until I found out he used a stun double. This is wrestling, do it yourself!

Shane McMahon comes to mind as some of the best, and also Elix Skipper on top of the cage in TNA.

were for getting uh kanyon i think it was falling from the 2nd or 3rd cage to the 1st in the triple cage in wcw. mick foley at no way out 2000 as cactus jack backdrop from hhh through the cell shane-o off the tron to test and that thing in ecw (original) where new jack (i think) threw someone off the scaffolding through a shit-ton of tables...BYAAAH!!!

I'm gonna go for Shane McMahon. I remember his dive off the scaffolding in the Last Man Standing match with Kane. He fell through the floor in a stunt but you could see he hit the back of his head on the side of the hole. That must have hurt like a bitch.

Shane'o may not be my favourite wrestler but you can't argue that in big match situations he's not afraid to sacrifice himself to give the fans a decent show...on Raw, not so much (I'll never get over those weak punches).

I agree with that, out of all the WWE roster he's probably taking the biggest bumps, even if the floor was made of padding.

I remember Rumble 1999 when Foley fell of the electricity box, which was pretty cool. Also all of New Jack's crazy bumps.

Hell in a Cell Foley/Undertaker comes to mind immediately

uhh other than that..Shane McMahon was one of my favorites not a person on the WWE roster was willing to give his body to try and get over with the fans as much as Shane McMahon

other than that..anything that Mark Briscoe does in ROH off the top rope, trucks, ladders

Jeff Hardy anything to do with the swanton off something...ladders,titantron, etc.

and finally my favorite is probably the headscissors by Elix Skipper off the cage at the first Turning Point..my heart pratically stopped and was a great part of one of my favorite matches of all time

my 5 favorite high spots are:
1.)taker tossin foley off the cell at king of the ring in 98
2.)jeff hardy swanton on bubba ray in tlc at mania 16
3.)edge spearing jeff from a ladder while jeff was hangin from the belt in another tlc
4.)shane off the tron/scaffold on to test
5.)elix skipper cage-walk hurricaranna

my least favorite is anything involving elevation-x i hate that match

just missing would be any van-terminator/coast to coast, takers flyin body press ,most of sabus stuff

on a quick note i think the austin triple h backhoe droppin the car with hunter in was pretty stupid and the monster truck shit with hogan and show back in wcw was the worst.

not sure if those qualify as spots cause im not sure what a spot is defined as i assume its anything thats not an ordinary move

Benoit and Angle doing the headbutt and the moonsault from the top of the cage. I like it because it involved no tables, chairs, thumbtacks, or ladders (not that I have anything against those things. Quite the opposite, really!). Just two guys beautifully executing a couple of awesome moves.

(It also featured one of my all-time favorite J.R. calls. When Paul Heyman remarked that Benoit looked a bit intimidated by Stone Cold, J.R. replied, "Benoit wouldn't be intimidated by a chainsaw.)

RVD's somersault dive into the crowd onto Bam Bam Bigelow in old ECW. Holy shit, was that beautiful or what?

Indeed. Not really high spots but they sucked mightily.

I HATE anything in wresting involving large, motorized machinery (with the exception of the Stone Cold Beer Bath). laugh.gif

I liked Brocks Superplex of the Big Show, otherwise any moonsault outside of the ring is insane.

I think that one of the best high spots that i have ever seen is Elix Skipper Hurricarana off the top of the Six sided cage a few years ago. The balance and bravery it took to do that was amazing. Although my fav high spot would have to Foley's falls from off and through the Hell in a cell
