Cut and pasted from another site:

Although the talks only appear to be very preliminary, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Kurt Angle's name has been brought up within WWE and it appears the company could be making a play to bring him back later this year.

Angle, who turns 41 this December, could be faced with a big decision if he is approached by WWE about a return. His wife Karen was said to be a major force behind him leaving WWE and now she is no longer a factor with the two splitting up recently. The negative is that Angle is still pretty banged up and is much smaller than when he left WWE in 2006.

While many feel his size could work against him, the belief is that WWE would give him an easier schedule and he would make more money. Angle has dropped a ton of weight in the last couple years, and tells friends he is much more comfortable this way. The plus to staying with TNA is that he is always guaranteed a top spot, his size will never be an issue and even if WWE offers him an easier schedule it will never be as easy on him physically as the TNA schedule is. The general opinion on Angle is that the smartest thing he could do is stay in TNA, but Angle's career is also coming to a close and the possibility of an increase in pay becomes even more important at that stage of his career.

What do you guys think?

Personally, an Angle return to WWE might actually bring me back as a regular viewer.

If he's truly as "banged up" as the reports say (and who could ever doubt it), I think the smart thing for him to do would be to come back to WWE for a year or so, do a victory lap and retirement angle, then go into the HOF and maybe come back here and there to fill in gaps.

But...would Vince forgive him enough to give him the send off he deserves? I don't think he deserves a Flair-esque retirement (I mean, the guy's career has been relatively short) but he has easily been in the top 5 wrestlers of the past ten years.

Let's face it: an eventual Angle retirement from TNA will be like a fart in the wind...no one's going to smell it and it will be gone before you know it. Okay, bad analogy but you know what I mean. laugh.gif

Thoughts? Opinions?

I dunno, it seems anyone that returns to WWE forget how to wrestle WWE's style and either go through the motions, or botch their crazy TNA spots that WWE's development territory don't teach lol.

I know Angle is obviously a cut above the majority of TNA stars and was on top in WWE before, but I'd prefer him stay with TNA and TNA would be dumbasses to not go all out on a contract.

In my eyes Angle is the one guy that can hang with the younger TNA stars, and thus get them over.

i think kurt angle, one of the toughest wrestlers i've witness in the ring, ought to stick with TNA. He's getting respect from the front office and don't need to suck up to vince. the fact that he is also carrying gold says alot for him staying in tna.
