Like the game says Hardy is overrated. He's loved for the sole reason of being a brother to the daredevil. Matt Hardy is in decline. I blame the writers. First they break up 4th best tag team in the business by separating them on to different shows. Then they give him his heel persona which worked for him. Matt and the MFers was great for his career. He sure has a lot more mic skill then his charisma crippled brother. Maybe this new angle he has will save his cancerise career. Because that shit was going down hill. He's been jobbing for Jack Swagger to get over as the Heat Champion. The man is a vetern of 10+ years. And he's jobbing for this kid. The writers still never fail to disappoint me like this. Altho I am happy they 're making way for the new. Matt Hardy's new heel stint will save his career. Hopefully. And if this doesn't work god help us heel loving hardy's.

Yeah, but think was a good move on the WWE and for Matt Hardy? All he does now is make other people look better and this will only end up with him ending up eating Bischoff's words, and i can see this storyline ending up in taters and having a really really bad ending, i don't want to be pessimistic but i think this isn't the way for Matt's character to get more popularity or heat, he really see him as a face, not a heel as he doesn't have that ruthless streak in him like other wrestlers do like Jericho or Orton. This can only be proved as when was the last time Hardy got an actual title push? I'm not dissing the ECW brand or title, but it doesn't have the prestige as the other singles titles in the WWE, so sorry but this can only end in tears or not even get off the ground as a stroyline i think. I'm hoping the WWE prove me wrong but...

Woodshack, as much as you would like to be "The Original Redneck" Shane Walker. But Leaving Woodshack Out :D After every post just doesn't suite you.

Now, Back to Matt Hardy: ECW Champion; United States Champion; World Tag Team Champion; European Champion; Hardcore Champion; Cruiserweight Champion; WCW Tag Team Champion isn't exactly what I would call a canserous career. I found his feud with MVP tobe very interesting. Matt Hardy has alot of skill on the mike in the ring & in the training facility. Which I think is the reason he made the move to ECW in the first place. I think this new heel turn is just the thing for him. Look what it did to Edge's career. Edge as a face, he would still be facing people for the IC title.

I agree with the MVP Matt Hardy Storyline, i loved that, i really did, every week it was the only reason i would watch SD After their segment or match id just be lyk ohh ok, have to wait till next week, But i think MVP made that storyline good not matt hardy, Personaly, i dont think matt would every have been a true main event face, but heel maybe.

You have a point Kee!

But, as entertaining as MVP was in that fued Matt vomiting on MVP after the pizza eating contest. Sold it for me. I think they both deserve equal credit on that one bro. I think the main problem that Matt has right now is no one see's him as a veteran. The guy has been in the ring for the WWE for 10 years. He never complains, great work ethic. The only bad thing anyone can say about Matt is he might lack luster in the ring. <----(No charisma) But is that really his fault? Think about it... If the WWE can give charisma to people like Bobby Lashley (The biggest the voice in wrestling) or Goldberg (spear, jackhammer, spear, jackhammer, spear, POWER SLAM....,spear, Jackhammer.) *You get the point* or even Brock Lesnar (I'm just gonna hug you to death). All i'm saying is I think this is Matt Hardy's break out point.

Damn - I leave for 3 weeks and this place turns into ShaneClone land! :D

On the subject at hand...I've said it before and I'll say it again: until Matt drops the Tiger Beat/Teen Heartthrob thing, he'll remain upper mid-card fodder. He's like that children's book "The Little Engine That Could." When you first hear it as a little kid, you're all excited and rooting for the Little Engine...but after hearing the story 100 times, you really don't care anymore. The Little Engine finally gets over through hard work and determination but I, for one, would rather have seen the L.E. take out the bigger engines in the dead of night with a sledgehammer.

Matt kind of reminds me of Ricky Morton from the Rock N' Roll Express. Back in the day, everyone I knew respected him and thought he was a great wrestler but the idea of him with a World Strap around his waist was laughable. He had a great series of matches with Flair during the Great American Bash one year (see the Ric/Horsemen DVD) but his fan base was a bunch of little girls. Flair even threw training bras at him during promos.

As a young boy at the time, I didn't feel comfortable cheering for him even though he was an exciting wrestler and rarely had a bad match. It would have been like getting caught listening to New Kids On The Block by my Metal-loving-just discovering Punk friends.

By the time Ricky turned heel, he was working in one of those dying Southern territories and no one knew about it. He spent a little time in WCW as part of the York Foundation (see the Brian Pillman DVD) as "Richard Morton" but it was too little, too late.

It also didn't help that most of us posting on the forum are probably bigger than him, but I digress...

Hopefully this new heel thing will work out for Matt but as someone else said on here, there needs to be a touch of ruthlessness or it's going to die on the vine.

I too hope that Matt carries this heel persona for some time, it could potentiallty be something very special if given time. As silly as this may sound, and it really doesn't affect his wrestling ability, but I think Matt needs a complete image change to go with his new heel character. Cut his hair short, grow a beard, change those stupid trousers please, they remind me of a gay Japanese stylist! Oh and give him some dark, metal type entrance theme and stop doing "V1" with his hand, that was never cool!

I absolutely agree with every single word of this post. This part, in particular, bears repeating:
